Maintenance Engineer

As a Maintenance Engineer with a focus on Welding & Fabrication, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and mechanical systems on various customer sites. Your welding and fabrication skills will be critical in products such as machine parts, platforms, guards and many more

 

Key Responsibilities:

Perform planned maintenance on mechanical equipment, machinery, and systems to ensure optimal performance as well as respond to breakdowns.

Troubleshoot and repair equipment malfunctions.

Perform welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) and fabrication tasks to repair or modify existing systems and parts and manufacture new.

Inspect and test mechanical components for wear, damage, and defects.

Collaborate with production & engineering teams to identify and resolve any mechanical issues that may impact production.

Work with technical drawings and sketches to fabricate custom parts and components.

Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations during all maintenance activities.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.

Assist with equipment installation and system upgrades as required.

Requirements:

Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance with a focus on welding and fabrication.

Proficient in welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.

Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.

Experience of using metalwork machines such as press brakes, guillotines and CNC plasma cutters.

Experience with CAD software for design and modification of parts would be an advantage.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings plus ability to work from hand drawn sketches.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in industrial maintenance.
